Do you know any myths about pregnancy?

There are many myths about pregnancy, some of these are,

• 'You can't fly on an aeroplane during your first and last trimester.' This is false, you can fly whenever you want, however some airlines won't let you on the plane in your last trimester, but that is only because they fear you could go into labour on the plane.
• 'You can't pet your cat during pregnancy.' This is false, however you shouldn't change the cats' litterbox because of risk of toxoplasmosis.
• 'You shouldn't eat smoked salmon while pregnant.' This is false, salmon is good for mothers-to-be because it is high in omega 3 fatty acids, which have a lot of benefits for pregnant women and their baby.
• 'You can't eat hot dogs.' This is false, hot dogs are fine to eat as long as they are well cooked.
• 'Pregnant women should keep away from polished furniture.' This is false, the furniture polish fumes do not harm the baby.
• 'You shouldn't drink coffee during pregnancy.' This is false, you can, just not to much,a cup-a-day won't harm the baby.
• 'Pregnant women should sleep on their left side.' This is false, you can sleep in whatever way is comfortable for you, just get whatever sleep you can.
• 'The baby's position in the womb can tell you it's sex.' This is false, you can't tell from outside the womb, on a positive note, if you do try, you've got a 50% chance of getting it right.
• 'Walking makes you go into labour.' This is false, it may make you feel better but there is nothing you can do to bring on labour.
